Programs for 2 1/2's and young 3's
On My Own is a program for children who are 2 1/2 by August 31 and turn 3 after this date. This year we are also offering an expanded program which will meet two days per week (90 minutes each class). All classes are held September through May. There is a Head Teacher and an Assistant Teacher in the classroom with a maximum of 12 students. The purpose of this program is to provide young preschoolers the opportunity to learn and play in a semi-structured environment that prepares them to attend our two-day program the following school year.
Each class period offers activities such as free play, crafts, music and fingerplays, circle time, Bible stories, and snack. Occasionally, the children will also visit the playground or gym.
For Christmas and Valentine's Day, the children have a party in their classroom with treats provided by the parents. We do not invite the parents for these occasions in order that the children grow in confidence in being separated from their parents. At the end of the school year, there will be a party or event which the parents are invited to join their children and the teachers as they celebrate the growth and development of the boys and girls over the last 9 months.
On My Own meets on Wednesday and Friday mornings from 9:30-11:00 a.m. A second class began January 7th, Tuesday & Thursday mornings from 9:30-11:00 a.m. There are still openings. Please go to the enrollment tab to download the registration forms.
